When people think of purchasing makeup, they automatically
know it’s going to be quite a bit of money out of pocket. They believe that the
only way they can find quality formulas is by going to a high-end store such as
MAC, Clinique, or Sephora. Surprisingly, this is not the case. You can actually
find higher quality formulas at stores such as Walgreens or even your local
grocery store. For instance, it is clear that makeup sold in drugstores is sold
to a wider audience. For that reason, the product must be safe for a larger
group of people to use. This will (almost) guarantee that the product will have
no negative effects on your skin. A lot of people believe that just because
something is more expensive or has a more recognized name that it is
automatically a better product to buy. Customers are more often satisfied with
makeup brands such as Maybelline, Covergirl, and Revlon as compared to Urban
Decay, Dior, or Bare Minerals.
Fashion and
makeup blog, Harper’s Bazaar tried out Covergirl’s Lashblast mascara that was
purchased from a drugstore for just eight dollars. “Flexible bristles conform
to lashes for smooth application, and spherical wax particles act as “spacers”
to push lashes into a perfect, plump fan.”
Musings
of Amuse, another makeup blog, tried MAC’s Extreme Dimension 3D mascara that
was purchased from MAC for twenty-four dollars. “Don’t waste your cash, there’s
no volume here! No length, no curl, and no drama…If you like wet, messy lashes
then have at it.”
It’s
nearly proven that people have more success with drugstore cosmetics over the
more expensive ones. So for future references, don’t waste your money on
something that won’t work unless you’re sure that it does, in fact, work.
Because if you don’t, you’ll end up displeased and with an empty wallet.
